“One of the most courageous projects in ballet today.” – New York Times

In just over a decade, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet has evolved from an educational program of the Kennedy Center to a highly lauded ballet company. Committed to carrying forth the legacy of George Balanchine through performances of his classic ballets, The SFB’s Balanchine Preservation Initiative introduces rarely seen or “lost” Balanchine works to audiences around the world. Many of these works have not been performed in nearly forty years. For the troupe’s second-ever appearance Seven Days, the program includes the Balanchine works Haieff Divertimento, Diamonds Pas De Deux, Meditation and Agon.

Throughout the nearly three decades of her performing career, Suzanne Farrell was the most influential American ballerina of the late 20th century, as well as the exquisite muse of one of the undisputed masters of ballet. After retiring from the stage in 1989, she emerged as one of the world's most inspiring ballet teachers and directors. Farrell – whose awards include the Kennedy Center Honors, Presidential Medal of Honor and Capezio Dance Award – has been FSU’s Eppes Professor of Dance since 2000.
