In conjunction with FSU’s Union Productions, Seven Days is proud to present Monica Bill Barnes & Company, a contemporary American dance company on a mission to celebrate individuality, humor and the innate theatricality of everyday life. It’s an approach that’s touched a chord with audiences and critics, who can’t say enough nice things about her: “If Charlie Chaplin was reincarnated as a female dancer/choreographer in our time, she’s be Monica Bill Barnes (Newsday).
“One of the wittiest choreographers around,” (The Village Voice), Barnes and company perform Another Parade, a go-for-broke, all-out dance event that “swerves between Bach and James Brown, as a knock-out quartet of ladies suggests, to great comic effect, a mentally unstable drill team” (New Yorker).
